Upon killing it, you’ll get the Pontiff’s Right Eye ring, and the path to the next Bonfire at central Irithyll will be made clear. If you really can't see yourself beating it - you can always try outrunning it to the Bonfire at the other side of the bridge - but it may have consequences. The beast loves to pounce and perform two bites with a pause in between, so be ready to dodge and counter after the second bite. Worse yet, it can spew lightning breath that arcs fairly close to its mouth that you'll need to steer clear of. It may also try to get some distance on you by hopping back, only to charge forth with mouth agape in a long lunge that you’ll need to dodge to the side. If you get behind the creature and see it turn its head, jump back or risk getting quickly bitten as it lashes behind itself in a quick pivot. This creature has a giant maw it will use to take swift bites out of you, so try and dodge to the side to strike back. However, if you did, and rescued Siegward of Catarina from the well outside the Cathedral of the Deep, it may just be Siegward who saves the day.Īs you cross the bridge, you’ll hear a rumbling and a low growl - turn around immediately or risk being chomped in the back by a Outrider Beast. Against your better judgement, telling Patches may just save Greirat from a terrible fate - if you haven't bought Siegward's armor. After he leaves, Patches may ask where Greirat ran off to. Since this place is pretty deadly, there's a good chance he may not return. A quick note - After discovering the second bonfire here, heading back to Firelink Shrine will prompt Greirat to ask if you want him to go on another run to pillage Irithyll.
